About Reach Beyond Basketball

Reach Beyond Basketball is a nonprofit founded in 2010 by Lenny Myers, Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach at John F. Kennedy High School.  Through over 20 years of service in the community, the program develops youth in basketball fundamentals and character, challenging them to pursue excellence on and off the court.

We build athletes using the 4 C’s:

Character

These principles guide every drill, every lesson, and every interaction within our program.

Lenny Myers played at Magruder HS and Shenandoah University. He is in his 19th year as a MCPS teacher and 5th year as Head Boys Basketball Coach at Kennedy High School, leading the team to three straight division titles and regional final appearances.

In 2020, he was named Educator of the Month by the Commanders.
